What is the difference between Dog Mate Tuffchew and Dentease?
Tuffchews are designed for aggressive chewers and are made from super tough, non-toxic polymer to outlast ordinary nylon chews. They are available in chicken flavour and beef flavour. Tuffchews are not suitable for puppies under 4 months old.

Dentease chews are made from a tough but flexible non-toxic polymer, ideal for tooth cleaning. The Dentease minty flavour will help freshen breath. Dentease chews are not suitable for puppies under 2 months old.

We recommend Dog Mate Tuffchew for aggressive chewers and Dog Mate Dentease for older, less aggressive chewers.
What makes Tuffchew and Dentease any different to other durable chews on the market?
Tuffchew and Dentease durable chews have been designed to incorporate many unique features. In addition to helping keep teeth and gums healthy, they are easy for dogs to pick up and the ribs make the chew easy to hold with mouth or paws whilst providing extra gum massaging features.

All Dog Mate chews have unique food recesses, which may be filled with food to encourage chewing.

Which size of Tuffchew or Dentease is best suited to my dog?
A dog's ability to chew depends on its breed and character. Always purchase the chew best suited to the largest, most aggressive chewer in the household. We recommend Dog Mate Tuffchew for aggressive chewers and Dog Mate Dentease for older, less aggressive chewers.

My dog often destroys chews quickly; will he be able to destroy these chews too?
Tuffchews are designed for aggressive chewers and are made from super tough, non-toxic polymer to outlast ordinary nylon chews. However, regularly inspect the chew and replace when it becomes worn. Ingestion of small shavings will cause no harm.
What are the "food recesses" and how do I use them?
All Dog Mate chews have recesses, which can be filled with food to encourage chewing. Try different types of food to see which your dog prefers. Many softer-style dog treats are now available and these can be broken and easily pushed into the recesses. After the dog has started chewing, you may find that you no longer need to use food inserts for encouragement.
